Hello! My name is Carly Rose, and I am a photographer based out of NYC. Going into any photoshoot, I always remind myself to capture real emotions, real laughter, and real happiness. Not only do I love looking at the final portraits, the clients’ reaction and their energy is the real reason I continue to be a photographer. Photos are the perfect keepsake and are our way to freeze special moments. It really is a pleasure to capture lifelong memories for my incredible clients.

ABOUT ME
I'M CARLY
I fell in love with photography in middle school when I signed up to learn how to process film in a darkroom. Fast forward to after college, I was not going to invest in a professional camera and special lenses until I knew that this was my passion. I started taking pictures of nature and my family members on my iPhone. I would spend hours editing them and tweaking every little detail. I loved those pictures, especially all of the flower ones. However, the quality wasn’t there yet. Once I got my hands on a real camera, I couldn’t put it down. I brought my new and heavy camera on my second honeymoon. I decided that this was a beautiful place to learn how to pose couples and learn more about the settings on my camera. I ended up giving free photoshoots to a few couples staying at our hotel. Yes, I guess I was working on my honeymoon and didn’t even realize! My husband loved that I was exploring my passion at the start of our lives together.
I absolutely love my personal life. Being happy and bubbly every day is part of who I am. I am a full time mama to my precious baby. You can find us giggling and playing together. She loves to sit on my lap when I edit and work on client galleries. When I have downtime, you can find me taking a walk in NYC or watching Netflix on my cozy couch. My husband is my biggest supporter and brings so much love and happiness to my life. We love to travel and are constantly dreaming up our next destination for a family trip. Hawaii and San Diego are our favorites.

Come to us in the Upper East Side to use our newborn props or we can come to you with our props! Travel charges in NYC may apply to transport our setup.
Q: How much does a newborn session cost?
A: $500 (includes the taking of the pictures, props and outfits, online edited photo gallery, access to our online print shop)
Q: When should I reach out to book a newborn session?
A: As soon as you know your due date! We will schedule a potential photoshoot date.
Q: How long is a newborn session?
A: Approximately 1.5 hours
Q: What should I bring to a newborn session?
A: Bring any custom name items or anything special to your baby. We love to take photographs of any details that are important! Check out Caden Lane or Etsy for custom name hats and baby name signs, etc.
Q: Do you bring props and backdrops?
A: Yes! We have many adorable props, outfits, swaddles, and backdrops for the baby. (Examples: basketball hoop, swing, hammock, whale, unicorn, moon, etc.) Feel free to ask what props we have! We are always adding to our collection. However, if you want to ensure we use a certain prop or outfit, make sure to have it ready! Many of our clients buy special outfits for their baby from Lou Lou and Company, Etsy, Amazon, or Zara. We bring our lighting gear, newborn studio backdrop for the baby to lay on, and our newborn props to the session!
Q: How many plain color backgrounds do we get for the baby?
A: We can switch the color background to match the outfit and props. We have pink, purple, different shades of blue, white, beige, and camel. We also have some pattern backdrops. These background blankets are specifically designed for newborn photography.
Q: What type of photos are included in the gallery?
A: You will receive a fully edited photo gallery with lots of pictures of you and your immediate family with the baby as well as lots of photos of just the baby. We also love to include detail photos of any special items for the baby.
Q: Where will we take pictures in my house/apartment?
A: I will set up my newborn studio backdrop in the room with the most natural light. We can take pictures of your family in the baby’s room, on the couch, on your bed, etc.
Q: When is the best time for maternity photos?
A: Starting at week 30. We will chat about your situation and what week would be best for you.
Q: What should we do with the photos after we receive them?
A: PRINT PRINT PRINT! We offer a variety of high quality prints from our print shop. We also work with clients to create lasting heirloom albums and stunning wall art.
Q: What colors should we wear?
A: Neutral or soft pastels always look clean and beautiful. It’s time to blend those outfits!

IN HOME FAMILY SESSIONS
Spending time with your family in your own home is something you already do! Documenting it always turns out better than you would expect! These are perfect to print out and frame in your house. How adorable is this in home session in Westchester, NY ?!

Helpful Tips
- Make sure you color coordinate! If one person is in a pattern, the rest should be in solids.
- Declutter certain areas in your house (especially the rooms with windows or lighter colored walls)

Q: Where should we take pictures in NYC?
A: Reach out! We know the best spots.
Q: Do you have newborn studio photos?
A: Yes! We have newborn props to allow a single color backdrop. You can come to us in the Upper East Side or we can come to you. Travel costs may apply to bring our at home studio to you.
Q: Do you do outdoor cake smashes?
A: Yes!
Q: Do you give the RAW unedited images?
A: No, I don't provide RAW image files. All images are edited by Blake Roses Photography and reflect our style.
Q: How many edited images will I receive for a mini session?
A: It ranges. We deliver as many as we can! This is very hard to find. Most photographers cap the amount of photos.
Q: How long is a mini session?
A: I stay for how long I need. Most mini sessions are 1 hour.
Q: What do I do after I access my online gallery?
A: Download ALL of the photos at the SAME time by clicking the downward arrow at the top of the screen on Pic-Time. Make sure to back them up (hard drive, the cloud, computer folder, etc.) You will only be able to access your photos for one week on the Pic-Time website.
Q: Can I post my photos on social media?
A: Yes! Please tag blakerosesphotography on Instagram. Please do not add any more edits or alterations to the posted photos.
